Mr. Jeyavanan Karthigesu, a Ph.D. student at the University of Tokyo, won the Student Poster Award at the 136th Japanese Forest Society Conference for his research on Individual Tree Detection in a Complex Mixed Conifer-Broadleaf Forest Using UAV RGB and Multispectral Imagery. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in the Department of Global Agricultural Sciences, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo, and conducts his research at the University of Tokyo Hokkaido Forest.
His research is supervised by Prof. Toshiaki Owari at The University of Tokyo Hokkaido Forest, with co-supervision from Prof. Satoshi Tsuyuki and Prof. Takuya Hiroshima at the laboratory of Global Forest Environmental Studies in The University of Tokyo.
