The Faculty Research Committee (FRC) of Agriculture organized the Best Research Award presentation on the 21st of November, 2024, held at the Computer Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture. This event was a platform to showcase the outstanding research contributions of students across various disciplines within the faculty. The Outreach Committee of the Faculty of Agriculture organized a training on “Open House: Experience of Agricultural Higher Education, UoJ” with the sponsorship of JICA PRECIDA – UOJ, on Wednesday 30, 2024, at the main auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture and JICA Research and Training Centre, Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi from 8.30 am - 3.15 pm. The prime aim of this open house training is to create interests to higher education in agricultural science among the students who are studying Advanced Level Education in Biology and Biosystem Technology stream, and motivate the students to choose faculty of Agriculture, university of Jaffna for their bachelor degree program, and transfer the resources available in the high tec laboratory of the JICA Research and Training Complex of the FOA, UOJ. The Faculty of Agriculture signed a MOU with private agri-tcchnology solution partner SenzAgro with objectives to collaborate in knowledge sharing on Precision Agriculture with the University academics, students, and support them in their research projects and training with SenzAgro Crop Intelligence Platform (“AgriCore”) and to further strengthen the internship training towards job market.
