Certificate awarding ceremony of the above courses was held on 11.04 2023 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ariviyal Nagar, University of Jaffna. The Chief-guest of this ceremony was Prof. S. Srisatkunaeajah, Vice Chancellor, University of Jaffna. Guest of honor of this programme was Prof. S.Vasantharuba, Dean Faculty of Agriculture. This occasion was graced by Prof.Usami Koichi, Consultant, JICA PROCIDA-UOJ team, Dr.S. Kajaranjan, Veterinary surgeon, Karachchi, Veterinary range, Deans of other Faculties, Heads of Department, Professors, other academic and nonacademic staff, qualified participants and other distinguished guests and students. Prof. S. Srisatkunaeajah, Vice Chancellor, University of Jaffna, Prof .S.Vasantharuba, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, and Prof (Miss) J.Sinniah, Certificate course coordinator for Livestock and Poultry rearing and Head, Department of Animal Science and Dr.N.Kannan, course coordinator for the courses Principles of Farm Machinery and Principles of Micro-irrigation and Head Agricultural Engineering addressed to the gathering. Prof (Miss) J. Sinniah acknowledged the sponsorship for 18 students by an NGO, Sri Lanka Centre for Development Facilitation, and the officers of the NGO namely, Mr.T.L. Wijethunga, Executive Director, MS Dushi. Balasingam, Programme manager, and Mr.K. Kularuban, Senior programme officer. Certificates were awarded to 45 participants (Livestock and Poultry Rearing 19 participants; Principles of Micro-irrigation 11 participants, and Principles of Farm Machinery 15 participants. Thereafter, Mr. N. Kanakasabapathi Nesan from the passing out students delivered the vote of thanks and their future support related to this kind of community engagement program. Then mementos were presented to the Chief guest, Guest of honour, course coordinators, and course teachers by the passed-out students. In the end, a formal photo session was held.
