Discussion Forum on “Opportunities and Challenges in Current Job Market”
Well-Being (We-Be) and Career guidance cell of the faculty of Agriculture jointly organized a discussion forum on ” “Opportunities and Challenges in Current Job Market ” on 15th of December 2022 at the main auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi from 8.30 am-10.15 am. The Mr. Vinasiththambi Vimaladhas, Project Specialist – Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning, World Vision was voluntarily served as the resource persons. Around 105 participants (Students of the faculty of Agriculture and the staff) attended the discussion forum.

The workshop was commenced at 8.30am immediately after the registration of the participants. At the beginning, an opening remarks was delivered by Dr. K.Pakeerathan on the importance of discussion forum followed by session on “Opportunities and Challenges in Current Job Market” by the resource person. Around 105 students and staff members were attended the discussion forum.
Participants were highly enthusiastic and actively participated in Q&A session to clarify the their strengths and weakness suitable fit for the competitive jobs.
At the end of the workshop participants gave the feed-back as summary. Key points of the feed backs are
- The gained the knowledge and skills on how to prepare their skills and talents to market them self
- They are confident enough to understand their own strengths and weaknesses
- They are very clear on career development opportunities available around the globe
- They will apply new skills learned to sort out the currently facing technical problems.
